Description
A whole wheat flatbread stuffed with spicy potato filling. You can enjoy this with yogurt or pickle of your choice by applying butter on it.
Cooking Steps
Make the dough
1. Take a bowl and mix 1.5 cup of whole wheat flour, 1 tbsp vegetable oil and 1/4 salt. Add water little by little and mix. Knead to form a smooth and soft dough and cover it for 15 - 20 mins.
2. Divide the dough into 4-6 equal parts.
Make the filling
1. Mash the boil 2 medium size potatoes in a bowl.
2. Add 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander, 1/4 salt, 1 finely chopped green chilli, 1/4 tbsp cumin powder, ajwain, garam masala, chat masala, amchur and 1/8 tbsp red chilli powder.
3. Mix it thoroughly. Stuffing is ready.
Make Paratha
1. Take 1 dough bowl and using rolling in roll it into a circle. Apply little oil all over the rolled dough.
2. Place 2-3 tablespoon of stuffing in the centre and make sure not to overfill.
3. Join all the edges together and pinch to seal the edges.
4. Flatten the rolling dough first using your hands and then with the rolling pin to a circle of 8-9 inch diameter. Apply equal pressure while rolling and you and the paratha will turn round automatically.
5. Transfer the rolled paratha onto the hot Tawa.
6. Cook one side for one minute and then flip over. Apply oil on the half-cooked side and flip again.
7. Cook both sides properly till both sides have golden brown spots on them. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
8. Serve aloo paratha with butter and pickle.
